Juha Pietilä
I've been playing music for about twenty years (about as long as Aki and Markus have been alive!) and my fortes as a studio engineer are pop, rock and punk and as a musician I focus on vocals, the guitar and the bass. (I've played in bands such as: L.A.M.F., Dirty Bastards and Varauloskäynti, to name a few.)
I founded Silkki Studio in 2006 in the Silk factory downtown Tikkurila and in 2010 the studio was relocated to it's current facilities in Rekola. Before that I co-owned a music production company and a studio called Korso Underground, which was active from 2000 to 2007.
I've worked with lots of different artists along the years ranging from small independent artists to famous finnish artists, and I'm always happy to work with new musicians, especially you!
Aki Saastamoinen
My spark towards audio engineering lit up roughly about a decade ago when I first started creating electronic music. Soon after I started taking lessons in studio recording, mixing and mastering as well as designing and mixing live sound. My comfort zone in the studio lies within rock, funk and jazz genres, but I've also mixed and mastered pop and classical music.
I've played the guitar for about 15 years and alongside that I've picked up a few instruments on the way. I currently play the guitar, the bass, and drums on a professional level, harmonica and vocals on almost the same level, and I also do lots of electronic music and compose orchestral music (AND I'm also an excellent bartender!)
